Find a movement practice that makes you feel great, for life, at our welcoming Reading yoga studio.

At Yoga Reading, it’s our mission to help you find the right movement practice for your body and lifestyle.

We believe that moving more makes you feel better in so many ways. In your body and your mind.

Through Yoga, Pilates and Strength classes and workshops, we empower you to understand your body and develop a movement practice to carry through different stages of your life.

In addition to the studio, we have an Osteopathic and Soft Tissue clinic on-site offering treatments and pre / re-habilitation support.

We also invite expert guests to share their research and knowledge of key subjects in the health and wellbeing field.

Our values are:

Our students and clients live in and around Reading and Caversham and range from roughly 25-75 in age (although those who’ve been with us for a while are always young at heart!) and all genders are welcome at our studio.

We cater to both those who are new to studio classes or have been practicing with us, or elsewhere, for many years.

Our skilled practitioners are experts in their respective fields and will work with you to overcome injury, support your practice and increase body awareness. So that you can learn to move well, in a way you love, for life.

We offer a fantastic blend of clinical advice and support alongside practical and fun movement classes. Our teachers are research-engaged and trained in Western medical approaches alongside Eastern philosophical practices. We work closely as a team and are therefore able to cross-refer where there may be a better fit for your needs.

This provides our students and clients with a much more in-depth and robust experience that ultimately aims to get them out of pain or discomfort and experiencing pleasure in moving regularly.

MEET KATIA,
OWNER OF YOGA READING

Yoga isn’t just about achieving a fancy pose. It’s about meeting your body with love and kindness through movement.

As adults, we stop playing. The beauty of yoga is how it can encourage you to do crazy stuff that we all think only children or athletes can do. One day you’re struggling to touch your toes and wondering why your back keeps aching, a few months later you’re doing your first crow pose or backbend!

I came to yoga quite late, considering I now run a yoga studio! Running transformed my life at the age of 16, then I added Crossfit through my twenties, but made a (to many around me) somewhat surprising switch to yoga from 32 onwards. I first gravitated towards it because I was going through a pretty tough divorce and was frankly too exhausted to continue my running and lifting. But I stayed with it, and eventually even decided to turn Yoga into a career because it was (and I know this sounds like an exaggeration but honestly…) a total revelation – it was a huge warm hug for my mind as well as my body and the more I did it the more I realised THIS was what I truly needed.

I trained to be a Yoga teacher in 2014 and co-ran Yoga Reading from this point; growing and moving it to its current location and becoming sole Director in 2020 (mid-pandemic and a small baby bringing a few challenges along the way!).

I’ve always been fascinated by anatomy and how the body works.

So I added clinical soft tissue training to my CV in 2018 which elevated my anatomy understanding and cemented my belief in movement optimism and positivity. I now run a small clinic with our in-house Osteopath Yulia Wind at Yoga Reading. Helping people feel better in their body, recover from injury or prepare for upcoming events and races.

For me, yoga and movement in general are just awesome. If you can get someone moving (and, more importantly, excited about moving) you can bring them joy and pain relief and massively improve their quality of life.

It’s our mission at Yoga Reading to do just that, through a combination of yoga, osteo and massage.
